About

Hyme is on a mission to accelerate a sustainable energy transition by leveraging inexpensive hydroxide salts for largescale energy storage – solving the challenges of fluctuating solar and wind energy.

Thermal energy storage can be key in stabilizing the energy grid to enable a constant supply of energy and accelerating the deployment of wind and solar. Hyme develops energy storage solutions based on the use of molten hydroxides as storage medium, and expects to be able to halve the price of long-term and large- scale energy storage facilities independently of geographical constraints. The first commercial facility is expected to be under construction before 2025.

The unique technology in Hyme was developed by Danish company Seaborg, where their research in molten salts intended for its inherently safe next-generation nuclear Compact Molten Salt Reactor lead to a breakthrough enabling low cost, grid-scale energy storage. Seaborg launched Hyme as their sister company to commercially pursue energy storage, using every tool in their box to combat climate change.
